Yesterday saw the launch of Capcom's Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin for Steam and the Nintendo Switch. Monster Hunter Stories 2 has players jump in the saddle of a young Monster Rider from the tropical village of Mahana as they befriend the ferocious monsters of the Monster Hunter series using a mysterious item called a Kinship Stone. Together the Monster Rider and their "Monstie" companions will embark on an epic journey as they take on challenging battles and make crucial decisions that hold the fate of the world in the balance.
When I reviewed the original Monster Hunter Stories a few years ago I really enjoyed it, which was a bit surprising to me since I'm traditionally terrible at the core series. However, the RPG-nature of Stories tended to be a bit more up my alley and I'll likely play through the sequel at some point in the near future.
