The walkthrough from Day of the Devs below starts giving us our first real dive into the gameplay of Loot River. From the initial glimpse that caught my eye, how we will manipulate the platforms and enter into combat (or avoid it) is starting to come into focus.
What has me most impressed is the little details this game is starting to show off. Not just the animations in the cutscenes but notice the way the shadows shift in relation to the light of your character or the way the water ripples under the floating platforms. I'm definitely keeping an eye out for this game, only disappointed that it won't be appearing on my preferred platforms limited to a PC and Xbox exclusive release.
“I’m a fan of both puzzle games and action games, so I wanted to create something unique where the action is a puzzle,” said Miro Straka. “Loot River takes the spatial sorting of Tetris and combines it with tactile hack-and-slash combat in a way I’ve never seen before. We hope this first peak at Loot River whets people’s appetites for it ahead of its release on Xbox and PC.”
