NVIDIA's DLSS 2.0 has been one tech I've been clamoring to see on a VR game. VR's really demanding and anything that can help the performance while still keeping up the image quality would be a great benefit for a lot of titles. Well today, the first VR titles have been announced that can bring a nice performance boost to those playing it.
The biggest title in this announcement is No Man's Sky. It's a title that needs a really powerful machine to run in VR with good performance. Now, it still doesn't run totally smooth even on high end machines, but with an upcoming update it just might. NVIDIA's touting that it will double your VR performance and will maintain 90FPS with a GeForce RTX 3080. If that's the case, that would be huge. Now, a 3080's still a pretty high end card, but being able to do that on Ultra is pretty massive and here's hoping it'll scale down well for those with lesser video cards. I have a Valve Index and an Oculus Quest 2 to test this out in so I can't wait to see this update be released.
Two other VR games which I haven't heard of, Wrench and Into the Radius, are also getting DLSS updates.
I'm hoping we see many more titles get it as I've seen it work really well for flat games in producing great image quality and with increased speeds at high resolutions.
As always, new Game Ready Drivers are available for fixes and enhancements as well as as support for the hottest games and today it's Days Gone coming out for the PC. Nab them to get the best experience currently possible for the new PlayStation game hitting the computers.
