One of my favorite genres in VR gaming is what I call the "poke at it and see what it does" genre. These games are usually thought of as 'escape room game', where you set in front of a panel of knobs and dials, and you have to figure out how all of the pieces interact in order to move on. In other words, you poke at it and see what it does.
A Rogue Escape, a new VR game from Armor Games Studios, is putting a fun twist on this dynamic. In A Rogue Escape, players are attempting to flee a hostile planet by stealing a giant mech. The problem is, they've never even seen the inside of one of these hulks, let alone learned how to pilot one. So they have to poke at it. This is such a cool idea, I'm amazed that no one has done it before.
I'm getting some real Statik vibes from this one, which is super fun, as that game is one of my favorite VR titles to date. A Rogue Escape is scheduled to release on June 10 on Oculus and Steam VR platforms. We've confirmed with the publisher that a Quest version will be playable without the link cable, which is always fantastic.
