Greensky Games' new title SWARM claims to put players in the shoes of "Spider-man, but with a gun". That's an apt description, but as soon as I saw the trailer, I instantly started thinking in terms of Bionic Commando, the old NES game that had players zipping round on the end of a bionic grappling hook shot out of their arm. You say Spider-Man, I say Bionic Commando. Let's meet in the middle.
Regardless of which comparison you want to make, it's clear that SWARM looks pretty great. With cel-shaded graphics, and a wild shoot-em-up gameplay loop, this one will have me enthusiastically reaching for the Dramamine when it releases on Oculus Quest and Rift (with cross-buy support!) later this spring.
