Going into an instance for the first time in an MMORPG can be a little intimidating. I typically assume that whoever I am with is an expert on the game, and I will be the fumbling fool that has no idea what to do. My actions will endanger the party, and my partners will despise my lack of ability.
That was the attitude that I had when entering this Arena instance in Bless Unleashed. Made for two players, this Holy Trial Arena instance is available to players starting at Level 5. Around Level 8, I became aware of the existence of the thing, so I figured that my slightly over-leveled status might carry me through what could otherwise be an embarrassing, fumbling display. I was expecting something like the Duos missions in DC Universe Online, maybe a few waves of enemies - something that would take maybe 15 minutes or so. I was wrong by a factor of 60.
Skip to the 2:00 mark. That's where I decide to load up the Holy Trial Arena.
So, here's what you see in this video. The Arena loads. My partner, FireFox184 shows up. I interact with a little widget to open the gate and start the arena. The enemy emerges from the other side. FireFox184 and I stalk into the arena and split up. I fire off a few shots, then lay down a rune on the ground to increase our damage. I throw a shield up on FireFox184 to keep her safe. My intention was to give one to myself too, but I ran out of time, because we straight slaughtered this enemy, in a very bloodthirsty and efficient manner. The Holy Maidan of Light goes down in a heap. The whole thing is over in literally 15 seconds.
At the 4:20 mark, you can hear me say, "Was that it?" Yes, that was it. I go through the portal, and back to my regularly scheduled adventuring.
I guess I don't need to worry so much. It seems I've played enough MMOs to handle Bless Unleashed's first Arena. Quickly.
