Sony announced today that PS Plus members will be getting Control: Ultimate Edition, Destruction AllStars and Concrete Genie next month. Destruction AllStars is exclusive to PS5 and is launching as part of the subscription. The games will be available to download from February 2, 2021, until March 1, 2021. Destruction AllStars, however, will be available for two months, until April 5, 2021.
Control: Ultimate Edition
Our very own Randy Kalista awarded the base game of Remedy’s Control a score of 8.5/10 in his review back in 2019. Control Ultimate Edition is the complete Control package (featuring The Foundation and AWE expansions) as well as the Expeditions end game mode, Photo Mode and all the content updates since the release of the original game. Owners will receive a free next-gen digital upgrade.
Destruction AllStars
Originally slated as a PS5 launch game, Destruction AllStars is set to make its debut via the PS Plus service. It follows in the footsteps of games like Rocket League and Fall Guys. Destruction AllStars can be described as a vehicular combat game, like PlayStation’s own Twisted Metal, but when your car is destroyed, you can run around the arena with access to unique abilities.
Concrete Genie
Concrete Genie is a charming PS4 exclusive described as “one of the best games of this generation” by our very own Eric Hauter in his review from 2019. His words seem even more potent now: “By embracing values like artistry, empathy, and beauty, this is a title that will appeal to gamers that might be feeling a bit world-weary, bringing color to a world that has been feeling a bit gray lately.”
