Monster Hunter Rise is one of my most anticipated games for 2021, so I was delighted by today's announcement that a free demo will be released on the Nintendo eShop. Monster Hunter games have their own rhythm and cadence, and playing a demo before-hand will be very helpful when it comes time to dive into the full game.
Available from January 8th until February 1st, the demo will allow up to four players to work together, either locally or online. Four quests will be playable in the demo, including a basic training quest, a "Wyvern Riding Training Quest", and quests to defeat Great Izuchi and Mizutsune. The caveat is that the quests for Great Izuchi and Mizutsune can only be played a combined total of 30 times, after which all four quests will become unavailable. Players should also note that progress will not carry over to the main game.
In addition to the demo, Capcom this morning released a new three-minute trailer, showing off some new monster design and the crazy new Wyvern-riding feature, which allows players to go into battle on the back of a winged monster:
Monster Hunter Rise is scheduled for release on March 26, 2021, and is now available for pre-order here.
