I don’t have a lot to say about the trailer advertising the addition of Monster Energy Supercross 3 to Stadia’s slate of games other then this: 1) The release date given at the end of the trailer is 02-04-2020, which misses this year’s anagram date by two days, and 2) the trailer is wildly on-brand for Monster Energy.
Please take the time to watch this video. It is insane for so many reasons. Who is this guy singing? What is that medallion around his neck? Does Monster Energy Supercross offer a time-machine to 2002? Why are these lyrics so on-point? Who are these people, and why do they want you to be “one of us” so badly? Have they never seen Tod Browning’s Freaks? Who is that 14-year-old kid in the trailer? Should he be there? Are these people dangerous?
A sampling of the lyrics for your giggling perusal:
“Let’s go. Hop up on the controls
Track editor is back, make it your own,
Build it your way (something, something) bleachers
We added sand, and some sick new features.”
The takeaway is that Monster Energy Supercross 3 will be out on Stadia in less than a month. Stadia’s Twitter followers reacted the same way that they react to every piece of Stadia news: By demanding FIFA.
