I was pretty damn excited about Boneworks before, but this video really seals it. The NDA has lifted in the Valve Index and Stress Level Zero showed off some the first few minutes of the game.
Boneworks is heavy on physics gameplay and with full finger tracking of the Valve Index, the immersion level is off the charts. No longer do you need to hold the controller and grasping the controller will let you grasp objects in the game. Open your hands and you drop whatever you're holding.
Everything in the game has weight to it and it shows. Some swords are heavy and require two hands. Some weapons are really light and easy to toss around. Enemies look like they have heft to them and you can see them struggle to move when you knock out a limb or two.
It's a truly impressive demonstration of what the new Valve Index controllers can let you do when you have a talented team produce something that takes advantage of it.
No word on the release date of Boneworks, but you can be sure I'll be picking it up when it comes out.
