Oh, Overgrowth is a thing

More On: Overgrowth

Sometimes, late at night, when I am whiling away the hours until I have to sleep by perusing YouTube, I come across something of a gem that reminds me of, well, creative genius.

A few years ago, back in college, a friend of mine hooked up his laptop to his TV and showed me a peculiar type of game called Overgrowth. Both single player and co-op, we controlled anthropomorphic rabbits who, after the destruction of their village, traveled their country to seek revenge...by kicking other anthropomorphic animal butt with martial arts.

I had forgotten about that game for quite a while, but the bell rang for me last night when I came across this video:

Yes, it is exactly what it looks like. Built with realistic bodily damage, players can use their fists (or paws), feet (or, back paws?) to break the necks, arms and legs of their enemies. Developed by Wolfire GamesOvergrowth has been in development for years, but it is finally out of early access. and available for PC. I will be honest, I love these unique games built from smaller developers, and the fact that it has a 3D build rather than a 2D makes it stand out from the usual indie crowd.

Overgrowth is available now.
