2K finally pulled back the curtain on WWE 2K19 and all of the new additions coming to this years game with the official gameplay trailer for the game. Three weeks before release but at least we have the information now. So here are some new things that I noticed in the trailer. This is all just speculation on my part until things are confirmed.
Wyatt House / Hardy Compound - This one is the most interesting to me. Within the last year in WWE we have seen both the House of Horrors match and the Ultimate Deletion. Wacky over the top hardcore matches taking place within the Wyatt House or the Hardy Compound. So it looks like we will be able to play these matches in this years game? Im not sure if these are backstage brawls or if they will be their own separate matches.
Custom Money in the Bank briefcases and entrances - At one point in the video we see AJ Styles holding up a red briefcase with the WWE 2K19 logo and later we see Braun Strowman holding the normal MITB briefcase. It looks like we will be able to create our own MITB briefcases this ear and it looks like there are special entrances with the briefcase as well. This is something the community has wanted for a long time
Mae Young Classic arena - I wonder if it's just the arena or if the Mae Young Classic tournament will be in this year. The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team classic has been in the game for a few years and you get a special cutscene winning the tournament. I hope we get the same for the Mae Young Classic.
New Cage Match Mechanics - Thank god because this has been a problem for nearly a decade. The cage match was pretty much unplayable. It looks like there are new mechanics like fighting on the side of the cage and fighting on top of the cage.
Women's Royal Rumble - Another thing the community has been asking quite some time for. With the first ever Women's Rumble match happening this past January, it makes sense it now part of the game.
Big Head Mode / Zombie Triple H / Gold AJ Stlyes - I have no idea what this is about. Maybe they are getting crazy this year with wacky variations of the wrestlers?
Anyways, all this looks great and it's nice that there are a lot of updates here that the community has wanted for quite some time.
WWE 2K19 launches on October 5th for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
