This year Space Invaders celebrates it's 40th anniversary and to celebrate, Taito is bringing Space Invaders Extreme to Steam in February. Space Invaders Extreme was originally released on the DS and PSP back in 2008 to celebrate the franchise's 30th anniversary, so it's no surprise that Taito decided to do something for the 40th. SIE was basically Space Invaders with some new additions such as power-ups, bonus stages, and even boss fights. Sadly I never played the game on the DS or PSP so I'll be looking forward to the Steam release next month. Taito has also announced that Groove Coaster, a rhythm-based game originally released on iOS in 2011, will also be hitting Steam this year, though no release date has been given and a Steam page hasn't launched yet.
