Troubleshooter is the anime XCOM I didn't even know I wanted

More On: Troubleshooter

Sometimes all it takes is just a little shift in genre to finally get my attention. Troubleshooter has the braggadocio of a fighting game, the storyline of a JRPG, and the turn-based tactical combat—and action camera—of an XCOM.

You are Albus Bernstein—a Japanese man with a Jewish name, I guess, but let's not think about it too much—solving crimes in the free-trade city of Valhalla. I don't know why being a free-trade city is relevant, since it's not necessarily part of the daily vernacular of living in the United States, but hey. We've got a bright city with a dark underbelly. We've got flashy martial arts moves to take out the bad guys. We've got a large and growing cast of characters to party up with. The video is all corny jazz and non-English speaking, but I'd be down for some anime XCOM

Troubleshooter is now in Steam Early Access. Indie developer Dandylion has been patching bugs rapidly, despite the holiday season.
