We are neck deep in Fall 2017, people. Game of the Year talks are starting to ramp up behind the curtains of your favorite video game websites. Podcasters are warming up their chops. Public relations folks at every major publisher are polishing their own GotY email campaigns. The schedule is as relentless as it is beautiful.
And then there's Ace of Seafood.
I can always appreciate it when, amidst all of this AAA hooplah, amidst this three-ring circus of a fall schedule, along comes a game that makes me go, "What in the ever-loving heck?"
In Ace of Seafood, you're a sea creature. Your rallying your fellow sea creatures to do battle with enemy sea creatures. You're shooting lasers out of your mouth. You're climbing seafood-based military ranks, gaining seafood-based leadership powers, and seeing if you can become the acclaimed Ace that was foretold in the seafood-based annals of ocean-going history. Or something.
It's a first-person (first-fish?) open-world action-shooter. I mean, what? You organize up to six fish in your party. You can be a sardine, crab, or a giant squid. I just don't even know any more.
Ace of Seafood comes out November 9, folks. There's not even any time to think about this. You're either in or you're out. Watch the trailer and you'll already know which camp you fall into. Sit back, soak in the completely chaotic visuals, and relish the fact that in this day and age of EA shutting down this studio, or Rockstar delaying that game, or Bethesda remaining tight-lipped about The Elder Scrolls VI, that a game like frickin' Ace of Seafood can still carve out a weird niche for itself with a wonderful subset of gamers that a) can take a joke, and b) have the disposable income to throw money at that joke, even if it turns out terrible. Wonderfully terrible.

[About the Game]
Ace of Seafood is an open-world third-party action shooting game set in the vast ocean, developed by Nussoft.
In this world, sea creatures possess the ability to shoot powerful lasers that can destroy just about anything. Organize up to six members of fish or crabs in your party. Defeat enemies, collect followers, train yourself and secure reefs. Expand your fighting power by fighting various other creatures while exploring the vast underwater world.
Take control of an array of sea creatures and freely explore the ocean in an open-world map.
You will engage in battle with various forms of sea-life in order to capture and take control of the reefs they guard.
The reefs serve as bases from which you can strengthen your allies and breed more of them.
As you multiply your victories, you will be able to control a stronger force and explore a wider region.
In battle, your allies will follow the commands of the Ace (that's you) which include battle formation and special abilities.
In this adventure, you can be a sardine, crab or giant squid.
