Before the Rift, I shied away from first-person shooters, not out of any sense of innate pacifism but because I'm really bad at them. I've also failed to make the societal transition from everything being about vampires to everything being about walking dead people.
The Rift has changed all of that. With the immersion of the VR world, I've found that I enjoy shooting at things much more than I used to. In fact, the entire VR experience has made everything better. I'm still a little afraid of getting myself too immersed in the zombie world - in fact, I'm a little afraid of how intense it will be when using the Rift. Robo Recall has ruined robots for me; I'm now afraid to be alone in a room with a Zoomba.
Still, Killing Floor: Incursion is absolutely something I want to wrap around my head at the first opportunity. The trailer will show you why better than I can with mere words. Have at it:
“Bringing the Killing Floor universe to VR has enabled us to create experiences and gameplay we couldn’t have achieved in a traditional game” says Leland Scali, Project Lead at Tripwire Interactive.
In Killing Floor: Incursion, players must take on the role of an elite Horzine Security Forces soldier as they team up with allies to fend off the horrific Zed hordes using an array of weapons including guns, blades and more. Players will be able to freely explore as they move throughout the environment, scavenging for weapons and ammo while searching for the best locations to fight the monster onslaught. Battle in diverse environments from creepy farmhouses to high-tech facilities through Horzine Security Forces missions and unlock the secrets of the Zeds’ origins.
Killing Floor: Incursion is developed and published by Tripwire Interactive for Oculus Rift + Touch.
