AtGames has announced that they will start taking preorders for their Atari Flashback 8 Gold and Sega Genesis Flashback retro consoles July 28th. Both consoles arrive in September as the primary competition for the Super Nintendo Classic Edition. While both the Sega and Atari consoles offer far more games than Nintendo's console--85 and 120 games respectively against the SNES Classic's paltry 21--ultimately it will be the quality of the hardware and game emulation that wins the day. Here's hoping the Atari Flashback 8 Gold and Sega Genesis Flashback give Nintendo a run for their money this year.
