It seems like almost anywhere I go online and see something Pokemon GO related (outside of dedicated forums and subreddits), there's always the one person who asks "people still play this?" First of all, yes people still play this and I'm one of them. Second, today is actually a pretty big day for the game as Pokemon GO turns one today. So what is Niantic doing to celebrate? A couple of things actually.
First, another special Pikachu is now running around and available to catch, this one wearing Ash Ketchum's iconic red and white hat from the first several seasons of the Pokemon anime. Sadly I have yet to come across one myself. The second is a special Anniversary Box for 1,200 coins that contains six Incubators, six Max Revives, two Premium Raid Passes, and twenty Ultra Balls. Between the Generation 2 Pokemon arriving back in February and with the recent re-working of the Gym system and the added raid battles (though there are still some ups and downs with the gyms), Pokemon GO is still going pretty strong. Here's to another year of catching them all!
