Sega has been teasing their latest Sonic the Hedgehog game for a while now, and today we have an official title, release window and some brief gameplay. Sonic Forces is targeting a holiday 2017 release, and the gameplay footage of Sonic racing through an exploding city actually looks pretty good. The game is supposedly running on the Hedgehog Engine 2, which is why it looks so much like Sonic Generations, which ran on the first iteration of that engine. As always it's good to be skeptical about any new Sonic game but it looks like Sega might actually be turning their mascot's fortunes around.
Sonic Forces will be coming to PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
