The books are closing on October this week and we roll into November with one of the season’s biggest titles. Capping off three consecutive week of shooter releases, this week sees a pair of new Call of Duty titles leading the charge of new releases. Yep, it is Call of Duty week! This coming Friday will see the launch of both Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. That’s right, the best of both worlds as the next step in the franchise releases along with a remastered version of what is perhaps the most beloved entry in the past decade.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is the latest release in the CoD franchise. The new chapter continues in the direction of futuristic warfare as players will be battling it out in high-tech suits called RIGs that enhance the soldier’s capabilities. Not only will you be dashing through the air and running along walls, but you will also be battling it out in the vast openness of space as well. Fans can expect the usual, over-the-top campaign alongside addictive multiplayer and zombie modes meant to keep you coming back for more time and time again.
Alongside Infinite Warfare is the launch of Modern Warfare Remastered. This is an enhanced version of the now-classic 2007 title that was really a milestone for the CoD franchise. This new version is only available as a bonus with the Legacy, Digital Deluxe, and Legacy Pro Editions of the Infinite Warfare, although I fully expect it to be released on its own sometime down the line. Both the original campaign and multiplayer with 10 of the original maps. Additional maps are going to be released as free DLC in December.
Finally this week we have Mario Party: Star Rush for the Nintendo 3DS. This is a bit of a deviation for the series as the game ditches the classic, turn based gameplay of the series in favor of everyone playing their turns at once. You;ll still be moving around a virtual game board and facing off in a variety of mini games. There are also boss battles included in the new game style, which challenges players to rack up the most damage against the boss for the prize. You can play the game with up to three other friends using the 3DS’ wireless ability although they all have to be local as no online play is featured.
What are you picking up this week?
