Niantic and Nintendo are about to roll out the first in-game event for Pokemon GO. In honor of Halloween, players are about to receive and influx of candy in the game by doing the things they normally do. The game will begin dealing out extra Pokemon candy between October 26 and November 1. The amount of candy that you collect from catching, transferring, and hatching Pokemon will double their respective amounts. Even better, equipping a buddy to your trainer will allow you to collect candy at four times the normal rate. In addition to all of the extra treats in the game, there will also be increased spawns of the game’s Halloween-esque characters, such as Ghastly, Gengar, Zubat, and Drowzee.
The game has had a rough couple of months with numerous alterations to the experience and tons of criticisms coming from fans and non-fans alike. Hopefully this pending Halloween celebration will draw back some of the player base that has been falling off over the past couple of months. I know that I am personally looking forward to using this time to try and finish out my North American Pokedex; only eight more to go!
