In Fallout 4: Nuka-World, raiders rule the roost. But not all of it. They start off with only one section of Nuka-World, which has many themepark themes. There are even three different raider clans running around, each with their own aesthetic.
And don't worry, being the bad guy may not be your bag. Yes, you can be the bad guy, but developer Bethesda went to great lengths ensuring you could be a not-so-bad bad guy, too. You can be what they jokingly call a "kind-hearted raider." The three raider factions run from the classically ultra violent, to the downlow and technologically stealthy, to the off-their-meds crazy.
I'm seeing lots of raggedly cool new armor sets, some sharp edged, some psychologically unstable, some even debonair—in that wasteland-y kinda way.
New weapons incoming, too. There's a paddle ball which you can mod with spikes. I mean, what? Nuka Cola itself has been weaponized in a variety of kooky ways, too, making the weapon-modding scene weirder than ever.
This is the capstone project to a year-long run of Fallout 4 downloadable content. It's Bethesda's way of saying, Hey, take a break from your usual save-'em-all schedule, visit Fallout's happiest place on earth, and blow some stuff up while you're there.
Nuka-World is available Tuesday, August 30, as part of the season pass content. Or you can purchase it separately for $19.99. It's on Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
