Since 2K took over the WWE games series, there is one thing that has been consistent every year and that is the games soundtrack of licensed music. WWE 2K15 was curated by John Cena. WWE 2K16 was curated by Stone Cold Steve Austin. The honor this year goes to Sean "Diddy" Combs aka Puff Daddy as he will curate the WWE 2K17 soundtrack. That's certainly... an interesting choice. In any case this years soundtrack will once again span multiple genres including hip-hop, indie, alternative rick, heavy metal and electronic dance.
Honestly in my opinion I wish they would go back to the soundtracks of the Smackdown games where most of it was nu-metal or alternative rock. That kind of music just fits really well with WWE and professional wrestling. Hell they could have used all of the music they have been using for the NXT Takeover's like BABYMETAL and Bring Me The Horizon because when I hear those tracks, I instantly associate it with the WWE and wrestling. I certainly don't do this with Puff Daddy.
WWE 2K17 launches on October 11th 2016 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4 and PS3.
