This long, hot Summer is almost half way done. It seems to me like there was a time when we, as gamers, would complain about the long droubt of games that usually occurred each summer. That hasn’t really been the case the past couple of years and this year in particular. Despite the sun and hot weather keeping most people outside, there has been a steady flow of new games each and every week. This week is no different.
This week brings a slightly lighter load of games to the table, referring to the “star power” as it is devoid of any major blockbusters (name wise). JRPG fans are getting one of this week’s biggest games with I Am Setsuna. This classicly-styled JRPG has you stepping into the shoes of a brave young woman who is preparing herself for the ultimate sacrifice in order to save her people. The storytelling and visual style with this one is very deep, which should please fans of the genre.
Star Wars fans are finally going to be able to realize their lifelong dreams with what is more of a demo than an actual game. Star Wars VR: Trials of Tatooine is a free to play experience launching on the PC for the HTC Vive. This isn’t a lightsaber-simulator-knockoff, this is the real deal. Developed by Lucasfilm, this is the ultimate Jedi simulator. It is important to note that while awesome, this isn’t a full fledged game but rather a tech demo / “experiment” that is meant to scratch the itch fans with the Vive headset have for the experience.
Of course, if you don’t see anything on the list that intrigues you, there are always Pokemon out there to be caught!
