While EA Sports aren't technically at E3 due to the studio holding their own show, it's still part of the week-long festivities. Today, we received our first real news regarding the next chapter in the long-running American Football IP, Madden 17.
EA has done their best to try and offer as many ways to play game modes as possible, specifically in the Franchise mode that has desperately needed some new additions the last couple of years. While it's hard to say at this point just how much will be different, for those who are more interested in the simulation portion and just running the club while seeing the biggest moments they will be getting their wish.
The Franchise Mode will give an option of "Play The Moments" meaning that the owner of the franchise can go into a game and play only the biggest moments of the season while still doing all of the front office work, stadium upgrades, hirings and firings. There isn't much else to go off of other than EA states that this new mode will allow players to go from opening day to Super Bowl in just a single weekend without actually simulating every single game.
Beyond this addition, it appears that in-game boosts will be given a face lift and a new addition called "Big Decisions" means that there will be pivotal decisions to be made that could alter the entire face of your franchise. We'll know more as it comes out, but for now, this appears to be the primary focus in the franchise mode for Madden 17.
