Sometimes a game gets a little bigger than it’s initial “scope”. In particular, some projects are envisioned as smaller scale, digital titles but their popularity and success grow and extend beyond those means. Such is the case of Rocket League which is officially leaving the digital-only distribution line and heading to retail stores this summer. Developer Psyonix has revealed that the retail version of the game will release on July 5, 2016.
The boxed version of Rocket League is being dubbed the “Collector’s Edition” and will be packed with a ton of goodies for those who pick it up. Included in the retail version, in addition to the base game, will be:
The four new vehicles are going to be released for all players via DLC at a later date in time, but will be timed exclusives to this version of the game for an undetermined amount of time. If you haven’t picked up the game yet, and I don’t know any reason why you have not, then this is the perfect opportunity. The game was easily one of the best games of 2015 and one of the best multiplayer experiences available in all of gaming.
