EA held a conference call and in there, they announced that Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be due out in 2017. The first game sold really well, as you expected it to, but reviews and reception have been a very mixed bag. I tried out the beta and got bored of it quick while a few of the staff members here gave it a go for a bit, but that didn't last long. Hopefully, DICE can really hit it out of the park with the next game now that they have the first one under their belt.
Battlefront 2 will feature content from the new movies. That includes the new episodes AND Star Wars Rogue One. No word on if they will also feature content from the past movies as well or if they are going to concentrate on just the new ones.
And if you were wondering what EA's plans were, they want to do a new Star Wars game a year for the next three or four years.
This year will round out the expansion packs and the Battlefront VR title that's due for the PlayStation VR. We can also look forward to a Star Wars title from Titanfall developers, Respawn Entertainment sometime in the future as well as one from Visceral Games.
