New week. New games!
Here we are, rolling into the second week of April and although we are looking at a shorter release list overall when compared to last week, there are a lot more high-profile titles. Three, completely different types of games will be vying for this week’s spot as the headliner. Each one caters to a different type of player which means means that just about everyone has something to be excited for this week.
RPG and portable gamers are prepping for the launch of Bravely Second later this week on the 3DS. The previous title, Bravely Default, took the world by storm back in 2012 and has grown to be modern classic. It is widely considered to be one of the best RPG games of the past decade, especially on the 3DS, and more of the same is expected from the sequel. Those who are craving a little bit of punishment in their life have Dark Souls III to look forward to this week. From Software is known for crafting grueling and punishing adventures and fans have been anticipating a new chapter on the now-current generation of consoles. The review ofor the game have been stellar so far and our own should be ready fairly soon.
Despite the droves of fans clamoring for those two games, the one title that I am most excited about this week is a game that is based on a movie, that is based on a game. Ratchet & Clank for the PS4 is a remake of the beloved PS2 adventure. This isn’t an enhanced port or update, but the original adventure completely remade for the new console. Insomniac Games has taken everything that they have learned throughout the popular series and its numerous games and put it all to use in recreating the adventure that started it all. There is a lot more content and humor this time around and the game looks absolutely amazing.
