Upcoming American Truck Simulator from developer SCS Software detailed its truck situation in the latest development blog. The developers discussed that due to licensing negotiations taking longer than expected that the game will launch with two truck models, the Kenworth T 680 and Peterbilt 579. After the game's launch, the developers are also looking to add both the Kenworth W900 and Peterbilt 389.
While more truck variety would have been nice I can understand how difficult the licensing situation must be for getting all the details finalized, especially for a simulation game based around trucking. The developers are hopeful that after the game is released and gains more attention from fans and the gaming press they'll be able to finalize more licensing deals. Big props to SCS Software for being upfront and clear about the licensing situation. The complete post can be found on their blog.
American Truck Simulator launches on February 3 for PC.
