Look, I don't care how many name changes it's gone through, Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak still amazes me. In this video, you follow Chief Science Officer Rachel S'Jet. She leads a 13-mission campaign south into enemy-controlled deserts. Looks like there's going to be a lot of conducting missions from your land carrier (a name I just made up). And it's all in order to find "an anomaly" deep in the desert that could save your world? Or, more likely, provide the impetus to find another homeworld altogether.
Deserts of Kharak is a ground-based sci-fi real-time strategy game, made by Homeworld and Company of Heroes veterans. It's a prequel to the original Homeworld (1999) and Homeworld 2 (2003).
Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak lands on Windows in less than two weeks, January 20.
