We’re winding down this week in terms of the big release season. This is the last “huge” week that we will see as things begin slowing down dramatically next week. It has certainly been a fantastic season to be a gamer and this week will continue to show you why. If you aren’t aware, there is this little movie coming out next month called The Force Awakens. It’s the latest installment in a pretty popular franchise called Star Wars (/sarcasm). While there isn’t an official game for the movie, there is the rebirth of the Star Wars Battlefront franchise which happens this week. This is a competitive shooter embedded in the Star Wars universe which is an incredible amount of fun to play. don’t expect a deep story mode or campaign, just a lot of action with lasers, spaceships, and lightsabers.

Nintendo fans are getting a new Mario sports title with a new Mario Tennis this week. If you have played any Mario-themed sport game in the past, then you know exactly what to expect. This will be another over the top experience featuring all of your favorite characters from the world of Mario. On the complete, opposite end of the spectrum from the family oriented Mario experience, Xbox One and Ps4 owners are getting a remastered version of Activision’s Deadpool. Marvel’s foul-mouth mercenary was the star of an under-appreciated action experience on the PS3 and 360 systems last year. Hopefully the fresh coat of paint and new systems will get the game the love it deserves.
