We have known for some time that David Cage and Quantic Dream might have been working on a new game thanks to a concept trailer they released a few years ago. Today, the confirmation was made and that game is called "Detroit."
Detroit is actually a continuation of Project Kara, a concept video that was released a few years ago where a robot girl becomes self aware and somehow escapes the factory where it was manufactured. In Detroit, she wants to go out and see how beautiful the world is. Sadly, it's a very depressing world filled with mayhem and violence. Where does her journey go from here? Kara 5 is alive? We will just have to wait and see.
The one thing I find interesting is that I think this is the first time that one of Quantic Dream's concept videos is being turned into an actual game. I remember they had videos like this before Heavy Rain and I believe Beyond: Two Souls was released, but it seemed like those were more like tech demo's that were showing off the engine of their new game. In any case, I thought the video for Kara was incredible and I am absolutely thrilled to see it become an actual game.
