I have been a huge fan of the Friday the 13th franchise since I was a little kid and have always wished for a true Friday the 13th game. Yeah, we have the NES game, which honestly I don't think is that bad, but that's probably cause I played it a bunch as a kid. This game however is looking to be the Friday the 13th game fans have wanted for years.
The game will play as an asymmertical multiplayer game where one person controls Jason and seven other people control camp counselors. How to do you win? Either eliminate the counselors or survive till sunrise.
The cool part about this project is that they are bringing on tons of people who were involved in the Friday the 13th movies including Sean Cunningham, the director of the original movie, Kane Hodder, the man who played Jason in four movies and Harry Manfredini, composure of the original score for the original movie. So it sounds like they are taking this very seriously and are looking to create a true Friday the 13th experience for the modern gaming generation.
The campaign for the game recently launched on Kickstarter and has already hit $300,000 of their $700,000 goal with 29 days to go. Be sure to check out their campaign for more in depth info on the game and of course to check out all the cool stuff you can get by pledging at certain levels.
