2K posted a YouTube video highlighting the changes and features of just how NBA 2K16 is going to strive to be the most realistic presence on a basketball court ever to show itself in a video game. From the crowd, to player interaction, to coaching strategies, down to how your feet hit the floor, there are some real exciting things happening in the development studios.
I've often heard the same tired criticism applied to all sports games that "all you're getting each year is a roster update for $59.99." And, to be fair there were a few times in the past and in some of the fringe franchises the only tangible difference seems like some graphic fidelity and new names on the back of the jerseys. I know sports games are up against it with yearly development cycles that are really pretty short for the industry. But at the same time, games like 2K's NBA and EA's FIFA or NHL franchises always seem to deliver some real innovation, and it's not a coincidence that they tower above the competition in their respective sports.
NBA 2K16 releasea t the end of the month, September 29th, on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
