Skylanders Battlecast combines collectible cards and mobile gameplay

The Skylanders universe expands yet again with Battlecast, a new free-to-play mobile game that has players collecting cards for online player versus combat and a single-player adventure. The gameplay has players forming a team of Skylanders and ultimately creating the best deck for online battles. The collectible card aspect of the game can be accomplished by either purchasing physical cards at retail stores or in-game through digital card packs.

Activision Publishing, Inc. CEO Eric Hirshberg describes the company's focus for the game, "Built from the ground up to bring Skylanders to life on mobile devices, Skylanders Battlecast combines physical card play with mobile gaming in an all-new way. This is our biggest investment, and one of our most magical ideas yet, for the Skylanders franchise on mobile."

Skylanders Battlecast will be available in 2016 on the Apple App Store, Google Play, and Amazon Appstore.
