A few days ago, someone went through the code for an indie game called Journey of the Light and found what seemed to be missing levels. It was said to be one of the hardest games out and the reason was that you couldn't get past the first level.
Digging through some of the code and files, it seemed as though there was only enough for the first level and the rest were just stubs, or placeholders. Some files were even duplicates of the first level.
The developer said that an update messed up the other levels, but so far he's been pretty shady about it and now claims he's too sick to do anything. Oh, the developer was complaining about how the refund policy was hurting indie developers like him. Maybe it's because you were trying to scam people.
In any case, Valve has removed the ability to purchase the game and is now offering unconditional refunds. Even if you have owned for longer than two weeks or played it longer than two hours, you'll be able to get your money back. I figured Valve would be doing this seeing sooner or later and I'm glad to see they are doing the right thing by letting anyone get a refund. This should be a lesson to all those trying to game the system. Sooner or later, you're going to get caught and probably lose a lot of money.
