In case you were living under a rock this summer. the U.S. Women's National Team won the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup by smashing Japan, 5-2, in the final in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. EA Sports hinted at a huge announcement regarding this, and they have made good on their word. Arguably the new face of women's soccer in the United States, Alex Morgan, will appear on the cover of FIFA 16 alongside of Lionel Messi, marking the first time a professional men's and women's player have appeared together on an EA Sports cover. The USWNT captured their first world championship in 16 years since their victory in the Rose Bowl in 1999, also recording the highest rated match ever watched in the United States along the way.
Congratulations to Alex Morgan for appearing on the cover, and remember to watch for FIFA 16 this September!
