Publisher Warner Bros. Interactive and developer TT Games have announced sandbox-type game LEGO Worlds is now available on Steam Early Access. Most closely resembling games like Minecraft, LEGO Worlds is described as offering unlimited creation power to players in procedurally generated game worlds that are made entirely from LEGO bricks. Players have access to various building sets that contain the various LEGO bricks that will be instantly recognizable to those familiar with the brand.
TT Games Managing Director Tom Stone described the game's premise, "LEGO Worlds embodies the physical, LEGO brick-building fun that consumers have enjoyed for decades, on a digital platform that delivers an entirely new type of experience with the beloved bricks. From the brick-by-brick editor, to discovering an expansive range of items, characters and creatures to populate your worlds—the creative possibilities are endless."
Game features allow players to create objects brick by brick or utilize prefabricated structures as well as landscaping tools to mold the terrain as they see fit. The game worlds can be explored through various means ranging from dragons to motorbikes. Future development plans aim to add multiplayer and sharing features to enable players to upload their creations.
LEGO Worlds is available now through Steam Early Access for $14.99.
