If you missed out on Deception IV then you'll be able to check out the game this July as Deception IV: The Nightmare Princess will be released as an enhanced version of the original game. This time, the game will revolve around Laegrinna and Velguirie, two daughters of the devil. Velguirie will also be the first character to have an active ability in which she can use kicks and somersaults to push her opponents into traps or away from her.
In addition to Velguirie and Laegrinna, players can unlock characters from the previous Deception games including Millenia, Alicia, and Reina. The game will also feature over 180 traps including banana peels, human cannons, iron maidens, guillotines, falling jack-o-lanterns, and various stages including medieval castles, hospitals, playgrounds and amusement parks.
Deception IV: The Nightmare Princess will be released on July 14th for Playstation 4. A version of the game will also be released on the PS3 and PS Vita but those versions will be digital only. The PS4 version will be available at retail.
Deception IV was one of those surprise hits for me. I knew absolutely nothing about these games, but I saw thee trailer and it looked interesting. The basic premise of the game is to kill your enemies by set up elaborate deathtraps. You also need to chain your traps together to score big points. I like to call it "Rube Goldberg: The game", so this news was a pleasant surprise for me and will absolutely be checking this out in a few months.
