Yanim Studio's freshman effort, Red Goddess, has been rather obscure so far, but hopefully this new trailer will drum up some interest. The story appears to have heavy Norse influence (one of the creator gods is named Odin) but the titular Red Goddess, known as Divine, is something new and different. The game takes place in a reflection of her mind while she struggles with her doubts and disorientation.
This might sound like typical hipster bait indie fare but the gameplay looks like fairly solid platformer beat-em-up and the art style is gorgeous. The indie scene is getting rather saturated with 2D platformer clones that squeak by on pseudophilosophical themes and stories, but Red Goddess looks to be focusing on gameplay first, with the setting as icing on the cake.
