As many of you know, I like to dabble in games beyond the world of video games, with things such as card and tabletop titles. Included in those is my favorite collectible card game Magic: The Gathering. The makers of Magic, Wizards of the Coast, have recently announced the next set that will launch in July 2015. This summer will see the launch of Magic: Origins.
Origins will be a completely different type of set than players are used to seeing. The set has far deeper creative and story driven narrative than ever before. The goal is to explore the origin stories of five key planeswalkers: Gideon Jura, Jace Beleran, Liliana Vess, Chandra Nalaar, and Nissa Revane. We’ll learn how they came to discover their planeswalking powers and the early adventures that shaped them into the powerhouses that fans know them as today.
The set will launch officially on July 17, 2015, although you can expect a preview release event the week before. Plus, with this being the new set for the Summer (outside of the core set), the chances are good that this could be included in the next chapter of Duels of the Planeswalkers.
