Microsoft part ways with Darkside, developers of Phantom Dust

At E3 last year, Microsoft announced that Phantom Dust was being remade and coming to Xbox One as an exclusive. Cyril reviewed the game a long, long time ago and really enjoyed it on the original Xbox. It was being worked on my Darkside Game Studios, a company that has a history of working with Microsoft.

Well, it looks like Microsoft abruptly severed ties with the company so now the game seems to be up in the air. Officially, Microsoft just says that their working relationship has ended and wishes the studio luck.

There's talk though that Microsoft forced the layoffs of the entire company, and that a higher up cancelled the game without even knowing anything about it. It's a weird situation, but I hope you weren't expecting to buy Phantom Dust soon with this current bit of news coming out.
