Last month, the news broke that BioWare's 4v1 asymmetrical multiplayer title called Shadow Realms was being rebooted or possibly cancelled. Today, it has been announced that "possibly cancelled" has become "actually cancelled."
BioWare Austin's General Manager, Jeff Hickman, made it official today on www.shadowrealms.com/blog/. The reason given was simply that "...there were other projects for the team to work on..."
It sucks whenever a game gets cancelled - especially one that's already signed gamers up for a closed alpha - but I have to say that I'm not sad to see this one go. I'd hate for BioWare to simple jump on a popular idea like "asymmetrical multiplayer" when those games are not what they're known for or specialize in.
