If you have ever had any interest in Sega’s modern take on After Burner: Climax, on either the Xbox Live Arcade or PlayStation Network, you had better pick it up soon. It has been announced that the game will be de-listed from both services later this month.
The supposed date of the game’s demise is December 24, 2014. This sort of thing usually happens when the various licensing agreements that have gone into a game’s production have expired. One of the most recent game’s that fell vistim to this was Marvel vs. Capcom 3, as the agreement between Capcom and Marvel expired and the game could no longer be sold either digitally or at retail (new copies).
I have to admit, I am a little sad to see this one go as it was an incredibly solid port of the arcade game. I had a lot of fun with the game when it launched and am thankful that I have it in my collection.
