Escape Dead Island, a 3rd person action spin-off of Dead Island, is coming out on November 21, and it's PS3 launch trailer came out today.
This seems like sort of an interesting game, if nothing else just because it's clearly quite different from Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide. One of the developers described it as a "3D Metroidvania" because map progression is based around acquiring items. He also said it's less combat heavy than the previous two, and revolves more around stealth in the beginning, with combat becoming more viable as you collect items.
The trailer focuses on showing us that there is a psychological horror element to the game, which again, I think is sort of interesting when you think about the previous Dead Islands.
Also worth noting is that the game is single player only, and is going to only cost $39.99. Do with that information as you will!
