Space Rogue looks like a riff on FTL's procedurally generated space combat and exploration gameplay painted with a different art-style.
The procedurally-generated universe will offer new enemies and new gameplay obstacles every time you play. Space battles will feature both real-time and tactical 1-on-1 battles where proper team and ship management are the key to success. You'll be able to upgrade you ship's systems with the goal of turning your piddly little space-beater into an unparalleled bringing of space-destruction. Crew mates will need to be upgraded also. Space Rogue will also be very moddable from the outset and you'll be able to share them with other Space Rogue players. Finally, you'll be able to land on mysterious uncharted planets. What you'll be able to do on them has yet to be revealed.
As we get closer to the game's Steam release date next year, we'll no doubt learn more.
