No matter what fantasy game you've played, be it classic Final Fantasys, Dungeons and Dragons, or any other classic-style fantasy games, they all have one thing in common. Okay, they have plenty of things in common, but one of those things are taverns. You know, those places where you can go, get a drink, take up some random quests, watch a fight break out, and then take part in said fight. Ever think to yourself "boy, I wish I could just run a tavern of my own"? If so, now's your chance.
Michael Flynn over in the UK has recently started a Kickstarter for a new game called Fortune's Tavern. Basically it's a tavern simulator. You can renovate and rebuild a tavern, build other things nearby such as cottages and fighting pits, hire cooks, blacksmiths, and adventurers, and just listen to guests' rumors and fund some quests. While each day will last 24 minutes, you never know what kind of random events will occur. Maybe you'll get infested with rats. You might have to deal with bandit raids. Perhaps a natural disaster will strike the tavern. Who knows?
For more information on the game, check out the Fortune's Tavern Kickstarter page. Keep in mind that all donations are listed in pounds, so I'm not sure how that'll translate into dollars (currency exchange rates aren't exactly my strong suit).
