Just in time for the Holiday season, Sony is looking to turn your PS4 (and the PS3, once again), into a karaoke machine with an updated version of SingStar. The new version of the singing software will hit the PlayStation Store on October 28. The revamped version, which is going to be available at no charge for both the PS3 and PS4, brings a new interface and some new features to the franchise.
For starters, there is a new companion app called SingStar Mic that will launch the same day for both the Android and iOS operating systems. You can use this app to not only create playlists for your game but it will also enable you to use your mobile device as a microphone if you don’t own one for your console. Secondly, and most importantly, you can import any purchases you made in the previous release to both your PS3 and PS4 (as long as you are using the same PSN account).
