I've had my Oculus Rift DK2 unit for a few weeks now and I am enjoying what little is out there. I'm waiting for a few more games and applications to get updated with the latest SDK so that I may use it, but today one product I've been waiting for finally gets the support for the latest Oculus Rift development kit.
SteamVR, Valve's Big Picture mode for head mounted displays, is finally DK2 compatible. There's still a lot of work to be done though, since it is a beta, but you can finally enjoy the 3D goodness that is Steam with the Rift.
It will only work in Extended Mode for now, so we'll have to wait on DirectToRift support later on, but at least it works. Just opt into the beta and you'll get updated with the latest version that will work with DK2.
Yeah, I know what I'm going to try out tonight.
