In a recent interview with Siliconera (thanks for the tip, Nintendolife!) Bill Trinen talks about the origin of Nintendo's "Treehouse" division, the now-legendary localization department at Nintendo of America. Trinen discusses how the department began with a scant two people, and shares his experiences in translating for Shigeru Miyamoto. It's an insightful read and I definitely recommend checking it out.
